The Global maps of business risk and opportunity project is an innovative risk management, communications and education initiative. It involves the development of interactive electronic and hard-copy maps of risks and responsibility issues and their significance to business.
At the core of this initiative is a unique set of risk management indices – one for each of the 35-plus issues mapped or scheduled for completion before end-2005. The indices rank country risk for each issue on a scale of 0-10. Indices are derived from the best available and most respected data sources.
The relative risk presented by this index can be further interpreted for your business using our ‘risk management proficiency’ index concept. Maps can be accessed via the Maplecroft web site or seamlessly as a branded extension of your company intranet.
Our mode of working is to operate as partners with leading edge businesses and not-for-profits in the development of the maps, including specialist inter-governmental organisations.
Our goal is to build a map that both ourselves and our partners consider is accurate, always up to date and meaningful, thus ensuring those who use the Global maps have a greater understanding of each relevant issue – how it impacts business and society, the nature of the risk and how that risk might be managed proficiently – with recent case studies to demonstrate how risk is transformed into opportunity.
